Building a custom home is a major decision. You deserve clear answers before making it.
What does the first step look like?
We’ll start by learning more about what you’re looking for, your preferred location, and your budget. From there, we can discuss available homesites, floor plans, and what it would look like to move forward with a Buffum Home.
Do we need land first?
Not necessarily. We have a selection of homesites available and can also help you find a lot that fits your plans. If you already own land or find a property on your own, we can build on your lot as well.
Can we customize the design of our home?
Absolutely. We can modify one of our existing plans to fit your needs, or work with you to create a completely new design.
Do we have to use Buffum’s lenders?
No. You’re welcome to use the lender of your choice. We can also provide recommendations for lenders who are familiar with the new construction process.
What if we have a house to sell?
We can help with that, too. Since we hold a real estate license, we can assist with selling your current home at a discounted rate, helping make the transition into your new home a little easier.
How do selections work?
You’ll have clear deadlines, curated options, and one-on-one help from our trusted vendors. Everything is tracked in the portal to help keep decisions organized and on schedule.
How long does it take to build a home?
Most of our homes take approximately 8–11 months to complete from the time we dig the foundation. The timeline can vary depending on the home, lot, selections, weather, and other factors.
What happens after we move in?
Our relationship doesn’t end at closing. Your new home includes a one-year comprehensive warranty, and you’ll have an easy way to submit service requests if something needs attention after you move in.
